Trucking Rates Continue to Rise from Weather, COVID-19, and Protests

coracle News

Trucking rates increased for the eighth straight month with average van rates increasing 11% and reefer rates increasing 3% from December 2021 to January 2022.1 These stats are reported from DAT Freight & Analytics and based on $116 billion in annualized freight transactions. Industry experts say this is the result of tight capacity due disruptions from winter weather, COVID-19, and recent trucker protests.2

It is currently difficult to obtain space on trucks without long-term contracts. Being in business for over 40 years, Canaan Group has developed an extensive trucking network across North America, giving us the ability to provide reliable service to our clients across the 10 Canadian provinces and 48 contiguous US States.
